This is a two bedroom apartment with a very modern feel. The interior has been recently reformed throughout. You have a washing machine, all kitchen equipment provided. The apartment location is convenient to explore the surrounding area in particular the Gaudi buildings which are located a few moments walk away. The Pedrera as the locals call it which literally means quarry or the Casa Mila, its real name as this was the rich Catalonian family which commissioned its construction, 1905 – 1910. This building has a surrealist feeling of waves breaking on the sore but it is best known for its cubist like army of statues on the roof resembling creatures from a science fiction movie. The other building that is with in walking distance is the Casa Batllo or as it is known locally the La Casa dels Ossos. House of Bones due to skeletal form also this building is filled with religious and Catalan symbolism such as the on the roof top which is intended to be the spine of the dragon which St George slayed, he is the Patron Saint of Catalonia. In around 20 minutes you will get to the Sagrada Familia. This is Gaudi’s unfinished cathedral supposed the ultimate homage to God for believers to find atonement for their sins. Also a 5 minute walk will take you to the metro to take you up to Parc Guell. Or you if you prefer less culture you are just two stops on the metro to The Rambla!
