Called the Athens of the Middle Ages, Florence was an important commercial and cultural centre not only in the medieval times but also during the Reneissance and later on. It is estimated that around 350 of the most important European artists of the second millennium lived or worked there.
There are plenty of sights to see in Florence. The city’s entire historic centre, declared a World Heritage Site in 1982 by the UNESCO, is one of them. It is crowned with the Duomo, a magnificent cathedral built by Filippo Brunelleschi. It is also worth climbing the Campanile, located right next to it, as it offers a lovely panorama of the city. Another unique construction that stands out in particular is the Ponte Vecchio bridge, with the multitude of shops lined up on its edges. The apartments we offer in Florence are on both sides of the Arno river, but all within easy reach of all these and many other attractions.
