In order to pick ones own accommodation in Milan you will want to take into account hotels, hostels and other Milan accommodations. The majority of hotels are appropriate for one or 2 night stays, for the shortest business visits and maybe when it comes to the very main hotels for no cost spared, overwhelming comfort. Hostels in Milan are often ideal for lone vacation goers, or transients. They're not in fact well suited for getaway as a result of their standard noise level and discomfort. Apartments in Milan are suitable for anyone planning a longer visit, a more comfy holiday getaway or for all of us who want a group stay or family group break. Group vacation stays can work out very less expensive because even 8 or 10 persons can share one large Milan serviced apartment. We have now a wide selection of Milan furnished apartments ideal for medium sized families and groups of friends. For cost for 2 or more people a holiday apartment in Milan are not to be beaten. We are able to provide down-town apartments, apartments near the theme parks, and apartments in the historical centre of Milan, for everybody who is coming for a weekend break in Milan, a family vacation or for one of the fests or national events prepared, then ensure you consider an apartment!
If you are going to spend your holidays in Italy, there is a city you cannot miss – it is Milan. One of the biggest Italian cities, the world’s fashion capital, Milan has been for centuries attracting tourists and adventure seekers from all over the world.
Where should you start your sightseeing? It is really hard to say, as the city is full of historical monuments and you can find the traces of the past on every corner of the street. Without any doubt there are three places you just have to see – namely the beautiful Duomo, which is the second biggest church in Italy, La Scala – world’s most sophisticated opera house and one of the first European shopping galleries – Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II..
Milan is also a paradise for those who are in love with modern fashion. The most famous world designers are settled here – Giorgio Armani, Dolce & Gabbana, Gucci, Prada, Gianni Versace, to name just the most important ones. Milan shops will offer you everything you can dream about.
If you prefer history and art, you are very welcomed to visit the numerous stunning city’s churches, decorated with antique statues and precious paintings. You can also admire the world famous Biblioteca Ambrosiana, founded in 16th century, where you be amazed by ancient books and manuscripts not only from Europe but also form Asian countries. Biblioteca Ambrosiana was the second public library in Europe and it owes 12 original manuscripts of Leonardo da Vinci.
The manuscripts are not the only thing Milan inherited after Leonardo. In the Santa Maria delle Grazie Church you will find probably the world’s most famous painting – the Last Supper. It is the unique occasion to get to know whom and what it really represents…
After a long day of sightseeing there is nothing better then to relax in a friendly atmosphere of one of Milan’s incredible restaurants. You just have to try the local specialties, such us cotoletta alla milanese, ossobuco, risotto alla milanese and brasato. The city is also famous for its salami (salame milanese) and characteristic cheese (gorgonzola).
Milan itself can be reached either by plane or by train. There are three airports – Malpensa (international flights), Linate (European and domestic flights only) and Orio al Serio (the budget flights). All three of them are very well connected with the city center (buses and trains). The city is very well organized when it comes to communication and being already in the center, you can use 3 subway lines, trams, trolleybuses and buses.
